Every community has stories that deserve to be told. Help us tell them.

From the decisions made in council chambers to the fortunes of local businesses, from sporting achievements to the issues affecting everyday lives, good journalism brings communities closer to what matters.

At Iconic Media Group, we’re investing in the future of local and regional journalism across Bedfordshire. As we develop our newspaper and digital portfolio, we’re keen to hear from people who want to play a part in that future.

You might be an experienced journalist looking for a fresh challenge, a junior reporter ready to build on your skills, or a graduate or aspiring trainee taking your first steps into the newsroom. Wherever you are in your career, we’d like to hear what you could bring.

Stories that matter. Journalism with purpose.

Our titles serve communities across Bedfordshire, covering news, politics, courts, business, sport and the people who make each area distinctive.

We’re interested in journalists with a broad range of interests, alongside those with a particular specialism. You’ll bring curiosity, sound judgement and an instinct for a story — whether that means asking difficult questions, explaining a complex issue or spotting something others have overlooked. You’ll also understand the importance of accuracy, fairness and earning the trust of the communities we serve.

What we’re seeking

For experienced applicants, we’d welcome examples of strong reporting, original stories and the relationships you’ve built on your patch or specialist beat.

For junior reporters, trainees and graduates, we’re interested in your potential: clear writing, initiative, a willingness to learn and evidence that you’re already seeking out stories. That could come through journalism training, student media, freelance work, community reporting or projects of your own.

An interest in reaching audiences through digital publishing, social media, video or audio would also be welcome.

Candidates must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car.

Please send your CV, a brief introduction and examples of your work, where available, to project50@iconicmediagroup.co.uk
